(with profuse aplogies to Clement C. Moore, his family, his admirers, and anyone else who might care)
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse....
(Or a duck ... but that doesn't rhyme with "house" and this is a family-friendly card!)
Clean laundry was placed in the basket with care.
Thanks to Kacey, it's wrinkled and covered with hair.
The furkids were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads.
And under the table a kitty named Hat
had just settled down for a long winter's nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter -
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter!
(Happily, not a repeat of THIS ...^^^)
And what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a great big tri Sheltie dressed like a reindeer!
With a little old driver so quick and so spry,
I knew in a moment it must be my Bry'!
More rapid than eagles their courses they ran,
as I yelled and I shouted and called things by name.
"Now weave poles, now dog walk now tunnel, now teeter;
now a-frame, get out, jump, now tire and HE-E-E-RE!!!!"
As I drew in my hand and was turning around,
down the chimney the Brycey Man came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur from his head to his toe,
with a wise, little face that was white as the snow.
He spoke not a word but went about on his business,
putting out all kinds of presents for Christmas!
And laying a paw aside of his nose (for making him wear the stupid hat!) he barked and he spun, up the chimney he rose!
He sprang to his sleigh to his team gave a whistle and away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
Season's Greetings To ALL
And to all a Good Night!
